The Department of Library Science aims to educate and train students to create and manage libraries. It offers a one year B. Library Science course at post graduate level.

The department strives to prepare students for positions of responsibility in the field of Library Science.

Objective of Department

• Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the procedures of selection, acquisition, classification, cataloguing, physical processing and retrieval of information.
• Promoting not just access to but also effective use of information services and systems.
• Develop competency and demonstrate skills in managing information in the context of the digital revolution.
• Demonstrate a critical capacity to apply and evaluate Library Science competencies consistent with the values, standards and ethics of the profession.
