In today’s day and age information is The king. But just information by itself is not enough. It has to be collected, managed and catalogued for it to be useful. The Department of Library Science aims to educate and train students to create and manage libraries. It offers a one year B. Library Science course at post graduate level.
The department strives to prepare students for positions of responsibility in the field of Library Science.
Objective of Department
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the procedures of selection, acquisition, classification, cataloguing, physical processing and retrieval of information.
- Promoting not just access to but also effective use of information services and systems.
- Develop competency and demonstrate skills in managing information in the context of the digital revolution.
- Demonstrate a critical capacity to apply and evaluate Library Science competencies consistent with the values, standards and ethics of the profession.
